Chanel’s Advent Calendar Raises Contention
December 14, 2021
Chanel has just released its first-ever advent calendar but faces controversy on social media platforms. This calendar celebrates floral perfume, Channel no. 5. It costs $825 and has 27 boxes. TikTok creator Elisa Harmon conveyed her dismay on Chanel’s advent calendar. Some items included; stickers, sample-size products, a dust bag, a flipbook, and a string bracelet. The video has 14.7 million views and Harmon claims Chanel’s TikTok account blocked her after the video went viral.
Chanel denies blocking Harmon and explains that the Chanel TikTok account was never active. Bruno Pavlosky, president of fashion and president of Chanel SAS, stated, “Chanel thought it would please some of its customers by offering this type of product. Evidently, we see that you have to be careful and therefore, in future, we will certainly be much more cautious.” Pavlosky declared that people are free to speak their opinions and issued an apology for those who were disappointed.
