A former Saline Middle School employee has been charged with stalking a minor following a student harassment inquiry, according to court records.
According to the Saline Police Department, 41-year-old Alissa Reese was arraigned in court on Saturday and released on personal recognizance bail.
According to authorities, school administrators were contacted in September following a tip that a middle school kid was being tormented using handwritten messages.
Morgan Sieja, the school’s resource officer, started an internal investigation. After three weeks of student interviews and note-taking, Sieja identified the suspect as an adult district employee.
According to authorities, Reese was terminated by the school following the end of its inquiry.
The police subsequently launched a criminal investigation, which was turned over to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office in November.
On October 25, the middle school principal alerted families of kids in the affected classrooms, and a communication was issued to all Saline school families when charges were filed.
A probable cause hearing for Reese is planned for January 9.
