According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, a woman who was 56 years old passed away on Tuesday during a diving accident that occurred off the coast of Key Largo.
According to Adam Linhardt, a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the woman, who has been identified as Andrea Shultz and hails from Tallahassee, was scuba diving close to the Molasses Reef when she suddenly lost consciousness in the water.
Shultz was reportedly given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by medical personnel as they were taking her to shore, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
It has been requested that an autopsy report be conducted to ascertain the cause of death, according to Linhardt, who stated that there is no evidence of any kind of foul play.
