On February 26, law enforcement in Dayton attended to a report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment located in the 1600 block of Darst Avenue.
Authorities pried open the door after hearing shouts from within and receiving no reply to their knocks, as stated in records from the Dayton Municipal Court.
A woman sustained multiple injuries and reported to the authorities that her son, known as Ledbetter, assaulted her using a small baseball bat and another wooden stick, as stated in an affidavit.
He was also said to have choked her.
In March, Ledbetter faced charges including two counts of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence.
Following the indictment, his defense submitted a motion seeking an evaluation of his competency and sanity. Following a competency hearing, court records indicate that he was deemed competent to stand trial.
