Drones crashed in mid-air at a Christmas concert in Florida, sending them careening into the crowd below at tremendous speeds, injuring numerous people, including a little kid whose mother says is clinging to life.
The Orlando Fire Department notified News 6 that one person was injured in the incident, but two mothers claim their son, who was reportedly struck in the face by a wayward drone, was left “fighting for his life in the ER.”
A startling video depicts a holiday display gone bad, complete with horrified gasps from the audience and pleas of terrified youngsters.
The 6:30 p.m. event, hosted by Sky Elements Drones in collaboration with the City of Orlando, saw hundreds of red and green drones illuminate the night skies over Lake Eola Park, creating complicated patterns in an artistically synchronized display.

Suddenly, groups of autonomous aircraft began breaking ranks and zooming down to the ground without warning, as shown in shocking video footage obtained by participants.
In one TikTok video recorded from across the lake, a chorus of “whoa” rings out from the crowd, with a young youngster questioning “What’s going on?” as the errant drones speed toward the ground.
According to News 6, the event carried on despite the tragedy, but the 8 p.m. show was canceled, the City of Orlando declared on X.
Andrea Otero, the city’s public relations manager, told People magazine, “We are in contact with the vendor to determine what happened during the operation.” “The investigation is being handled by the FAA.”
Jessica Lumedge and Adriana Edgerton, the parents, posted a photo on Facebook of their son in a hospital bed with a bleeding top lip. “Pray for my son, we went to the Drone show at Lake Eola and one of the drones hit him in the face,” said Lumedge on Facebook.
“I’ve never felt this afraid. I can’t believe that a drone show at Lake Eola Park evolved into this. I’m worried for my baby,” Edgerton said.
Edgerton subsequently tweeted a photo of the youngster with the caption, “My baby is going into emergency heart surgery off of just trying to watch a drone show…” “I’m beyond words, beyond terrified!” the distraught mother wrote.
