HPP: For his alleged involvement in a 13-vehicle collision that occurred in York County in April 2024 and resulted in the deaths of two people, a man from Lehigh County has been charged with manslaughter in the third degree.
In connection with the deadly accident that took place on April 16, 2024, on Route 30 in West Manchester Township, Stephen Kravitz Jr., a resident of Emmaus, is facing over forty counts, as stated by the West Manchester Police Station.
They were identified as Barry Hirneisen and James Lawyer by the York County Coroner’s Office as the victims of the collision.
On April 25, 2024, Hirneisen was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while Lawyer passed away as a result of his injuries following treatment at a nearby hospital.
A statement made by the coroner indicates that the event occurred near the intersection of Kenneth Road and Route 30 in the eastbound direction respectively.
It was eventually determined that Kravitz, who was 53 years old at the time, was the driver of a box truck that was involved in a collision with other automobiles at the crossroads, which resulted in a detrimental chain reaction.
At least eight people were injured as a result of the collision, which caused several passengers to become trapped inside their automobiles that they were traveling in.
Among the vehicles that were involved was a school van that was transporting four pupils; fortunately, none of the individuals who were inside the van incurred any injuries.
There are a total of 43 counts that have been brought against Kravitz, including two counts of murder in the third degree, two counts of homicide by car, and two crimes of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence at the time of the incident.

In addition, he is facing a number of crimes that are connected to this incident, including four counts of aggravated assault by car while under the influence of alcohol, 18 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and several additional accusations.
Kravitz had not been brought into custody as of Wednesday night, according to the report that was broadcast on the television station.
In accordance with the provisions of The Pennsylvania Code, a conviction for murder in the third degree can result in a sentence of up to forty years prison.
