HPP: A lady from Florida is facing criminal charges after authorities claimed that she sent a text message to a sheriff’s investigator by accident.
The sheriff’s investigator’s number was one that she had saved from a previous conversation. The sheriff’s investigator’s initials were similar to those of her drug dealer.
According to online court documents, Octavia Wells, who is 41 years old, is being charged with driving with a suspended license, possessing drug paraphernalia, and unlawfully using a two-way communication device.
On December 31st, the case was brought to light. According to the complaint, an investigator with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office received a number of unwanted text messages from a person who described themselves as “Octavia.”
According to the allegations, the defendant stated that she required “just a couple points,” which is equivalent to one-tenth of a gram of fentanyl. The document also included the defendant’s statement that she had forty-five dollars to spend and that a meeting location had been decided upon.
According to the affidavit, she was discovered by deputies while driving on a roadway.

While she was standing close to the door that leads to the driver’s compartment of her vehicle, a deputy approached her. It was stated in the affidavit that she was detained and that she was informed of her Miranda rights.
It was stated in the affidavit that she allegedly admitted that she was there to try to purchase a tiny amount of fentanyl to use because she was about to go to rehabilitation on that particular day.
In addition, the defendant stated that she had sent a text message to an investigator by mistake, whose number she possessed and whose initials were identical to those of her drug dealer, according to the document.
Tin foil that was used to smoke fentanyl, fentanyl test strips in the center console, cut straws that were used to smoke fentanyl, a digital scale, and a cut straw that was found beneath the driver’s seat were all reportedly discovered during a search of her vehicle (according to the allegations).

The court ordered her to submit to random urine testing and to post bond. Additionally, she was prohibited from possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. A court appearance is scheduled for her on January 30.
