A man with a past of criminal activity has been apprehended once again for alleged vehicle theft.
Authorities took Marsalis Streeter into custody on Wednesday afternoon facing multiple charges following a traffic stop involving a vehicle believed to be stolen.
Just before 1 p.m., the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office informed the Florida Highway Patrol about a report of a stolen vehicle. Authorities reported that a 2019 GMC Sierra was allegedly taken without consent by Streeter, who had a friendship with the vehicle’s owner.
Authorities were guided to the site of the stolen car and its driver, a repeat offender, thanks to ONSTAR’s assistance. A trooper positioned his vehicle to intercept Streeter and instructed him to exit the truck.
During the inspection of the vehicle, officers reported discovering two rifles resembling AR models, a 9mm handgun, additional magazines, containers of ammunition, a protective vest, and a small bag thought to contain marijuana.
Streeter has been arrested and is facing multiple charges, including possession of cannabis, grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a bulletproof vest during the commission of a crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The car has been given back to its rightful owner.
