A cold front was set to sweep across the state from Tuesday to Wednesday. The weather service anticipates the rain will clear, but it will also usher in another wave of cold air.
The cold air arrived in North Alabama, potentially bringing a few flurries before drier conditions take over. Other areas of the state will experience increased rainfall.

Weather service forecasts indicate that temperatures will steadily rise over the weekend.
Next week is expected to be warmer than usual, based on forecasts from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. The upcoming temperature forecast for the next six to ten days indicates a strong likelihood of warmer-than-usual conditions lasting until December 19.
