MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A head-on collision that occurred in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of both drivers and left a passenger in the hospital that required medical attention.
At approximately two o’clock in the afternoon, the collision took place on Broomfield Street, which is located east of Mission Street and close to the Central Michigan University campus.
One of the vehicles was being driven by a man from Mount Pleasant who was 51 years old, and a man from Mount Pleasant who was 75 years old was riding as his passenger, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department. A man from Elwell who was 43 years old was determined to be the second driver.
The head-on collision was caused by one of them crossing the center line, which caused the collision. An ambulance drove the passenger, who was 75 years old, to a nearby hospital, where his condition remained unknown on Wednesday. Both drivers were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident that occurred.
Due to the fact that the authorities were still attempting to notify the relatives of the individuals involved, they did not identify the individuals.
The Mount Pleasant police department will proceed with its investigation into the reasons behind the collision.
