HPP: Just one day after a video was uploaded to Facebook showing him reportedly proposing to his alleged fiancée, a man from New Jersey has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of his alleged fiancée.
Jose Melo, who was 52 years old at the time of the tragic event, was brought into prison and charged with first-degree murder in addition to other felonies. The event took place in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he was arrested.
The body of Naket Jadix Trinidad Maldonado, who was 31 years old and was Melo’s fiancée, was found at a property on Florida Street in Elizabeth at roughly nine o’clock on Monday morning, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office. Maldonado was found dead at the property.
A public proposal that took place on December 29 at the Bamboleo Night Club in the Elizabeth area was exposed in a video that was posted on Melo’s Facebook page. The video was shared the day before the horrific tragedy that took place.
Throughout the course of the video, Melo can be seen dropping down on one knee and placing a ring on Maldonado’s finger while the crowd yells out enthusiastically.
It was Melo who tagged the image with the words “I love you baby.” “Casate Conmigo” (which translates to “Marry Me”) was a song that was sung by Silvestre Dangond and Nicky Jam, and it was played in conjunction with the proposal.
Her family is grieving the loss of Maldonado, who was a mother to two daughters, and they have started a GoFundMe page in her honor to raise money for her funeral expenses.
In the wake of her tragic death, the page conveys the grief that the family is going through and makes a request for justice to be served.

Melo has been taken into custody and charged with the murder, and the authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
“Naky was senselessly taken from us on December 30 in an act of evil. This horrible act by someone she trusted left her two children without either parent and with very little options for their future,” her family stated on the GoFundMe page.
It is strongly recommended that anyone who may have additional information on the case get in touch with the Homicide Task Force of the Prosecutor’s Office.
