In Platte County this morning, there was a collision involving four vehicles that resulted in three individuals hurt.
On the northbound lanes of Interstate 29, just south of Northwest 72nd Street, the accident took place at approximately 1:45 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place when a jeep that was being driven by a Parkville resident who was 19 years old was rear-ended by an unidentified vehicle that was traveling in the right lane.
The vehicle they were driving then veered into the left lane. An automobile driven by a Kansas City woman who was 19 years old attempted to avoid colliding with the jeep, but it succeeded in doing so.
The car and the median were both struck by a tractor-trailer truck driven by a man who was 58 years old and from Atlanta, Georgia. The truck eventually came to a stop.
Even though the Parkville guy got relatively minor injuries, the Kansas City woman who was his passenger, who was 19 years old, sustained serious injuries.
A truck driver from Atlanta also sustained some minor injuries as a result of the collision. To receive medical attention, all three were transported to the North Kansas City Hospital.
