Phoenix, AZ– A brief drop in temperatures is expected for the Valley before they rise again into the 70s as the weekend approaches.
Due to a cloudy Thursday morning, overnight temperatures were slightly warmer than those on Wednesday. The temperature at Sky Harbor reached 53 degrees, marking an increase of eight degrees compared to the usual for this date.
This afternoon, expect some clouds to drift by, with temperatures significantly higher than usual. The temperature is expected to reach about 75 degrees, exceeding our typical high for this season by nine degrees.
Maricopa County Air Quality has announced that burning is not permitted for the rest of Thursday and all of Friday.

A system moving to our north will begin to lower temperatures on Friday, leading to breezy weather in Northern Arizona along with some cloud cover. The temperature is expected to reach the upper 60s, nearing the typical high for this time of year.
As that low shifts east of our region. A weak ridge of high pressure is set to make a comeback this weekend. Temperatures are set to reach the 70s again this Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by some passing clouds.
Next week, temperatures are anticipated to remain consistent, with highs reaching the 70s until next Wednesday.
