during telling her mother the night before she was discovered dead that he would “get her home safe” and “take care of her” during a family holiday party, a Las Vegas man is accused of killing his new girlfriend by shooting her four times in the back of the head.
Tracy Coleman saw Renise “NeNe” Wolfe, her daughter, alive for the very last time.
In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal last week, Coleman recalled saying to Wolfe’s boyfriend, Markeem Benson, “Please get my daughter home safe.” Benson allegedly responded, “I’ll get her home safely,” while escorting Coleman to her vehicle on Saturday evening.
“I’ll take care of her, I promise.”
Days before Christmas, Benson, 29, is charged with killing Wolfe at her apartment in the 100 block of East Rome Boulevard close to Centennial Parkway. After Wolfe, 33, was discovered dead on Sunday morning, Benson’s father reportedly called North Las Vegas Police and informed them that Benson intended to turn himself in for the fatal shooting.
After being placed on probation for a conviction for attempted robbery, Benson was arrested on Thursday and charged with murder and possession of weapons.
At Benson’s arraignment, Michelle Jobe, the Chief Deputy District Attorney for Clark County, stated that the victim had been shot four times behind the ear from the back of the head.
This information was reported by KLAS. “He claims there was a struggle and the gun went off.”
According to statements made to the Review-Journal by Wolfe’s family, they never anticipated that Benson, who had only been seeing Wolfe for five months, would act in such a manner, with him giving the impression of being a caring and loving boyfriend in his contacts with both her and them.
“He makes you really trust him,” Coleman told the Review-Journal, adding that Benson was always checking in on Wolfe and dropping in at her work to see her. “That’s how he took care of her,” Coleman stated.
Coleman, along with the rest of Wolfe’s family, has informed the Review-Journal that they want to attend each and every court session in order to ensure that justice is carried out in her case. This is since her daughter has passed away and Benson is currently on trial for her murder.

“We’ll be here every single time,” Ashley Tuttle, Wolfe’s sister stated.
“People always say when somebody passes, ‘they were so wonderful.’ But my daughter was wonderful,” Coleman continued.
On Thursday, members of Wolfe’s family and friends gave interviews to the Review-Journal outside of the North Las Vegas Justice Court, which is where Benson was scheduled to appear for his arraignment.
Following the hearing, Wolfe’s family and Benson’s relatives engaged in a physical altercation and brawl, which ultimately led to Wolfe’s father, a former Las Vegas police officer, being detained by law enforcement in handcuffs. Benson’s relatives were also involved in the altercation when it occurred.
According to Coleman and other sources, the altercation took place after Wolfe’s father allegedly filed charges against a guy who was identified by the local media as Benson’s brother. Benson was apparently insulting Wolfe’s family in court.
No one who was involved in the incident has been charged by the authorities, as it is not apparent.
During Benson’s arraignment, the judge rejected his release, noting his prior convictions for home invasion and attempted robbery, which resulted in his being placed on probation in November. Benson was sentenced to probation in November.
