Authorities report that a suspected drug trafficker has been apprehended following a collaborative investigation involving San Francisco and federal officials.
The inquiry included the San Francisco Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the National Guard, uncovering that the suspect was trafficking drugs in the Tenderloin District.
Authorities secured warrants to examine the individual, his car, and his home in Oakland.
On Wednesday, authorities spotted the individual known as Kerlin Salgado-Ferrera driving in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. He parked his car and got out at the corner of California and Polk Streets.
Salgado-Ferrera threw away items thought to be drugs while being pursued on foot. Authorities discovered that he had items linked to drug trafficking activities.
Salgado-Ferrera has been arrested on charges related to drug trafficking and is now in custody at the San Francisco County Jail.
Authorities searched a residence on MacArthur Boulevard, uncovering significant quantities of various drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, suspected fentanyl pills, and heroin, along with a substantial amount of cash.
