Thanksgiving Storm Could Bring Snow to New York; Parade Braces for Rain and Strong Wind

A storm is expected on Thanksgiving Day, bringing rain and potentially winter-like conditions, including snow, to certain areas of New York.

The upcoming storm may affect holiday travel on highways and at airports nationwide. A Thanksgiving Day storm is on the horizon.

New York City is set to experience rain and strong winds during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It appears that snow is on the horizon, but as of Monday morning, it seems that any snowfall expected on Thursday will occur mainly to the north and west of New York City, rather than within the city limits.

It’s early to determine the effects of the rain and wind on the parade, but historically, the only occasion when balloons couldn’t be flown due to strong winds was in 1971.

Be sure to grab a raincoat and an umbrella. Expect daytime temperatures to hover in the 40s. Wednesday brings a pleasant day, though it will be a touch cooler. Look forward to temperatures nearing 50 degrees.

On Black Friday, expect a slight possibility of rain and snow showers. Expect chilly temperatures, with highs reaching the 40s.
