Authorities in Hillsborough County apprehended two teenagers after a traffic stop escalated into a short foot chase, resulting in the recovery of several firearms.
A routine traffic stop was initiated by deputies at the intersection of Bryan Road and Williams Road, leading to the unfolding incident. At the time of the halt, two passengers in the back exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.
Authorities chased down the individuals and swiftly captured 17-year-old Sidney Dorsey. During his apprehension, Dorsey was discovered in possession of a loaded Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun featuring an extended magazine capable of holding 22 rounds.
Authorities successfully located and apprehended the second fleeing suspect, a 16-year-old named Arturo Garcia, with assistance from HCSO’s Aviation, K-9, and Patrol Units.
Further examination of the vehicle uncovered more firearms, such as:
- A 5.56 rifle with an extended magazine and no serial number.
- A Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun along with a loaded magazine.

“Thanks to our deputies’ swift action and teamwork, these dangerous individuals were arrested, and weapons that could have caused harm were removed,” he added.
