A tragic shooting that took place on Wednesday evening at the TGM Bay Isles apartments resulted in the death of a young man named Tomohnd Newkirk, who was 15 years old.
At approximately six minutes before six o’clock on the evening of December 18th, officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to the apartment complex that is situated at 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North.
They were dispatched there after receiving reports of a shooting. They discovered Newkirk suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene.
It was later determined that the adolescent had passed away at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he had been taken for treatment.
The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the homicide situation and are requesting that anyone who may have information come forward.
