Truck Collision on Louisiana Highway 437 Claims Life of 26-year-old Sanitation Worker, Injures Hyundai Driver

A collision involving a truck occurred on Louisiana Highway 437 at approximately six in the morning on December 13, 2024, resulting in the death of Benjamin Bonura and another individual.

According to the authorities, a Twenty-four-year-old Hyundai Elantra was traveling in a southerly direction near Royal Pine Drive when it collided with the rear of a garbage truck.

When the collision occurred north of Covington, Benjamin Bonura, who was 26 years old at the time, was working on the back of the garbage truck that belonged to 2020 International, according to the authorities.

After being taken to a nearby hospital, he passed away shortly thereafter. The driver of the garbage truck did not sustain any injuries.

According to the authorities, the driver of the Hyundai came away with moderate injuries. To add insult to injury, the driver, whose identity has not been disclosed at this time, was also transported to the hospital.

Investigation into the collision is still ongoing by the authorities.
