Unexpected layoffs are now hitting Maryland in 2025, as many businesses submit WARN letters announcing imminent job losses.
It’s critical to realize that the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires a business with more than 100 full-time employees to send a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more people at a single location.
Maryland’s most recent layoffs began in November and will continue until January 2025. This year, Maryland has had around 6,005 WARN layoffs among 68 businesses.
Below is a new list of firms who have filed WARN notices with the state of Maryland, warning of future layoffs this year until 2025:
- Tate Access Floors, Inc. 32 job cuts by 1/8.
- Marriott International. 833 job cuts by 1/3.
- Allied Universal. 18 job cuts by 1/9.
